Hybrid Car
At first we wanted to make our car lemon-powered, but after watching a few youtube videos we realized that was not going to work realistically. We then turned to rubber band energy which helped us successfully power our car.
Reflection:
I feel like our work was okay; it wasn't the best it could have been, but it wasn't a complete failure. We started off with a good idea, but it could only be a wheel. We couldn't transfer it into an actual car. I definitely learned that the first idea isn't always the best one. We were so stuck on our first idea that when we realized it wasn't going to work we didn't have very much time to start over. I also learned that I need to work on time management. We were actually ahead of schedule with our first idea, but as soon as that idea stopped working we fell behind rather quickly. And we should have just stopped our first idea before we spent to much time on the lost cause. I will try to improve on letting go of my ideas that don't work instead of just repeatedly trying to fix them and wasting time. I also will try to work on managing my time better. Before the project we drew out a calendar of when things needed to be finished, and we left it in our cabinet not really bothering to look at it. If we had been looking at the calendar the whole time we might have managed our time better and not have been as stressed towards the end. I felt like our group worked pretty well and everyone contributed as much as they wanted to. No one was left out or not included. We all supported each other's ideas, but at the same time we would tell the person the flaws of their idea in a good way. We would then work together to find a way to fix the flaw in the idea. We definitely had troubles finding a design that worked, and had many trials and errors. Every time we were getting good progress something would go wrong. Then about 3 days before the project was due we had to start our car all over again which ended up being our final product. Since we didn't get much time to do our car our test ride didn't go to well and we got a little over 4 meters. Even though our car didn't work out that well it was still great to learn a lot more about cars and alternate energy sources.
